Professor Andrew Gordon was interviewed with Professor Michael Reich on the August 31 episode of “Japan on the Record,” a podcast by Dr. Tristan Grunow (Pacific University). In this episode, Profs. Gordon and Reich discuss their article "The Puzzle of Vaccine Hesitancy in Japan" recently published in the Journal of Japanese Studies, responding to reports of low vaccine confidence in Japan by outlining the history of vaccines in the country and reflecting on what lessons can be applied to future pandemics.
